Today I've used the last command to try to install Palatino.ttf. Sudo cp addfonts/* /usr/share/fonts/truetype/MyFonts I then copied the fonts from addfonts to MyFonts using this Terminal command: I dragged and dropped the downloaded fonts from the desktop into the new addfonts subfolder. I then created a new subfolder in the home folder window, calling it addfonts. I opened a Terminal window, then created a new folder for fonts, called MyFonts, within the global location by typing: sudo cp mkdir /usr/share/fonts/truetype/MyFonts Now the text in OpenOffice has reverted to Arial – not Palatino.
